How many pieces are in the auction or sale?- We are quite busy around here and do not have the time to count each piece in an auction or sale, except under special circumstances. In most cases, if it is an auction or handpicked lot of sea glass, we will provide at least one picture which shows absolutely everything that you are considering bidding on or purchasing.
Do you use real sea glass? And is all of your sea glass real? - Yes, all of our surf-tumbled sea glass has been produced via "natural" means, at no time do we ever polish the pieces in a rock tumbler or other mechanical device. We take great pride in providing some of the very best in genuine beach sea glass.
Sea glass takes at least 3 years, to 10+ years to develop from freshly broken glass. Due to the properties of the coloring agents used in glass, glasses of different colors tend to be of different hardnesses and some may be more prone to chip then others. Each piece of glass is unique unto it's self.
How can I tell the difference between "fake" and "real?" - "Fake" sea glass, is made up of bottles and other glass items that are broken up and then placed into a rock tumbler in order to give them a "frosted" look. We have found that material that is produced artificially tends to be uniform in degree of polish and often times all appears to be the same exact color and hue. Unfortunately, not all sellers disclose the "true" origins of their glass. Some people hold no value in genuine vs manufactured, but enough people do care to make this a serious issue for many.
True sea glass develops a crystalline appearance on the surface of the glass, it sparkles in just the right light when well developed and makes for some true "gems" of the sea. We have never witnessed this shimmer or sparkle in artificial sea glass.

What is your return policy? - If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, please return, in its original condition, within 30 days of purchase for a refund of the purchase price. S&H charges as well as custom drilling charges are non-refundable. Please allow two weeks for your refund to be received. Refunds resulting from PayPal purchases will be issued via PayPal upon receipt by BTBT.com of your merchandise.
Where exactly are the beaches you go to? - We are not at liberty to discuss the exact locations of our glass collecting sites, however I can tell you that they are within a radius of roughly 100 miles from San Francisco, CA.
Do you have any tips for drilling sea glass? - Water and diamonds along with a drill press, the rest is up to you... We are always happy to do custom drilling work though, and we sell the diamonds bits and other supplies, as well.
