Carquinez Strait
 |
Several small towns dot the Carquinez Strait. With a glance at a map you will see Martinez, Port Costa and Crockett on it's southern banks. On the northern side of the Strait you find the one time capitol of the state of California and former hang out of Jack London, Benicia. Just to the west of Benicia you will find the community of Glen Cove followed by Vallejo's waterfront.
This area is rich in history as the path to the gold fields led through the Carquinez Straight. What was at one time promised to be a more important city then San Francisco is now a sleepy suburb of the city to the southwest, yet it's history is just as proud in several ways. Even the Pony Express termintated in the town of Benicia. The sea glass found along the shores of the Carquinez Strait may not always carry the same patina as the glass in other places, yet it does have a beauty all it's own.

Important Notes Regarding Sea Glass Hunting Guided Beach Combing Excursions.
- Unless other arrangements are made, you are responsible for handling your own transportation and food.
- As we are beach combing and not sun bathing, trips take place rain or shine. We suggest preparing for all types of weather since it is possible for it to be very cold and foggy on the beaches with it warm and sunny only a quarter mile inland.
- If a particular trip has a limited number of signups, we reserve the right to reschedule the trip for a later date, if this is the case we will provide a minimum of 72 hours notice.
- As most of you know, beach combing results can vary widely from one day to the next, as such some trips will be far more productive then others.
- The map above shows the general area we will be located at and not the exact locations or route.
- No collecting buckets, small bags work best.
- You may also bring along pieces of sea glass found on your own beach combing excursions in order for Charles to appraise them and or make jewelry from them.
- You will be required to sign a release form prior to embarking on your excursion.
- One of the benefits of beach combing with Charles as your guide, he will give up the vast majority of his finds when he is acting as a guide.
- Full payment is due at the time of your booking in order to secure your reservation.
- If you fail to show up at the prearranged location at the predetermined time, you will be not be refunded your deposit. If you provide a minimum of one week notice of cancellation you will receive a full refund of your deposit less a $5 processing fee.
- If you would like to attend an excursion, please contact us in order to make reservations. If a particular trip has no vacancies, you may request to be placed on a backup call list where if an opening comes up we will contact you so that you may join us.
