A big thank you goes out to everyone who made possible and who attended the book signing, sea glass exhibit and jewelry show in Half Moon Bay on Friday, September 16th 2005. Thank you to Sharon Foster, owner of Seascapes Gallery, who invited Richard LaMotte, the author of Pure Sea Glass (2004) to come out from the East coast and sign copies of his wonderful book along with appraising sea glass brought in by fellow beach combers. Sharon did an outstanding job hosting the event along with working with local merchants to provide the venue.

Another thank you goes out to Richard and his family for taking the time to come out here and spend some time in beautiful Half Moon Bay, and for inviting me to join him at the signing so that I could have an opportunity to exhibit some of my rare and uunusual pieces of sea glass, pottery shards and jewelry.

Thank you to my wife Heidi, who though nearly 9 months pregnant with our second child, (our 6 year old was in school), was a trooper and helped a great deal with the set-up, tear down and who was a valuable asset during the show.

We were blessed with great weather and it was a pleasure to meet several long time customers and to be able to put a face to the freindly emails and voices at the other end of the line. There was plenty of talk about how sea glass collecting and beach combing are activities which all generations within a family truly enjoy and it becomes a wonderful bonding experiance to walk along the shores and search out the glistening gems from the sea as they are washed up onto the beaches. Other people commented on how addictive hunting for them can be, (trust me I understand!) :)

If you took photos at the show and would like them to be included on this page, please email them to me in .jpg format and unedited, so that I may edit them to fit properly on this page.

Here are several pictures from the event. I expect to attend several more events, either book signings or jewelry shows and craft fairs in the near future, so be sure to check back often for any upcoming appearances in or near your area. If you are interested in having Richard and myself come out to do a show for you at you bookstore, gallery, gift shop etc. be sure to contact us about availability and details. I look forward to seeing you at the next sea glass event and be sure to bring along a few of your favorite finds so that Richard or I may have a chance to appraise them and perhaps tell you of their origin.
